I have never danced before, can I come to class?

Absolutely! You don’t have to have ever taken a single dance class to come along to Masion Magenta classes. Classes are suited to all levels.

Do I need to have a certain fitness level to come to class?

There is no required fitness level to attend our classes. Upon signing up to class you agree that you are fit and well to take part in our classes, and you agree to declare any relevant health conditions and/or injuries.

What should I wear to class?

You can wear whatever you would like to classes, we just suggest that you wear something that is comfortable and you can move in. Some ladies wear fitness wear, others go full out with corsets and frilly knickers – it’s completely up to you.

What shoes should I wear?

In our burlesque classes this is entirely up to you. You can go barefoot, wear heels, trainers or dance shoes

For heels classes we recommend either dance heels or boots. Pole dancing shoes are too high for weekly classes. You are also more than welcome to skip the heels and wear trainers.

What should I bring to class?

There’s not a lot that you need to bring with you to our classes. We advise always bringing some water. Some routines will involve props (i.e gloves, boas or fans) but you will be given enough notice to give you time to source them.

Can I try a class before signing up?

Every new student is entitled to try out their first class for free before any payment is needed. If you choose to sign up you will then need to pay for the entire course.

Am I too old, big or uncoordinated to join?

Our classes are open to all women over 18. You do not need to look a certain way or have a single bit of dance experience. In our classes you will find all kinds of different ladies from many different walks of life.

I don’t know anyone in the class, will I be welcome?

Something we pride ourselves on here at Maison Magenta is that we are like a family and every new member is embraced with open arms. It won’t take long before you have made friends for life and our social events are a great way to spend time together outside of class.

Can men join in?

Maison Magenta’s burlesque classes are not open to men. Men are however welcome to come to heels classes and take part in hen dos and private parties.

Can I take photos in class?

At the end of every class there will be time dedicated to taking videos and photos. All we ask is that you ask the permission of anyone else in your images/films before you post them to social media.

How do I pay for class?

Payments are taken via card payment with two payment options available. The first is pay-per-course (usually 4/5 weeks). The second is monthly memberships, where the cost is split up across the year.

Do I have to be confident and sexy?

Of course not. Our classes are designed to help built confidence and help women to embrace everything about themselves. Although, it won’t be long before your confidence blooms.

Do classes involve stripping?

In classes we may remove shirts, gloves, gowns and more, however we are always clothed underneath and students only reveal what they are comfortable with.

How do I pay for hen dos and party bookings?

A deposit (to be agreed at time of booking) is required to secure hen do and party bookings. The remainder of the balance is due 7 days before the event and should be paid as a bank transfer.
